Open Enrollment is from November 1 to January 15, 2027
Marketplace plans provide financial protection from the high costs of medical care and cover 10 essential benefits, including preventative care and pre-existing conditions.
Call 305-767-3883 to find out if you and your family are eligible for tax credits (subsidies) to help with your premium costs. Eligibility is based on minimum and maximum household income levels and other criteria. Plans without subsidies are also available.

- To prevent fraud, you will need to verify your identity to enroll in the Marketplace.
- The list of immigration statuses that qualify for the Marketplace has been updated.

Medicare
Open Enrollment
October 15 to December 17

January 1 to March 31, 2027
You can only join, switch, or drop Medicare plans at certain times called enrollment periods.
Medicare Basics
- If you’re turning 65, you will need to start the process for transitioning to Medicare three months before your birthday month, unless your birthday is on the 1st of the month, then you need to start four months before.
- If you’re over 65 and retiring from a job and losing your health coverage, you have 60 days after your loss date to sign up for Original Medicare, Part D and/or Medigap or Advantage plan or face penalties.
Monroe County Updates
- Several insurance companies are terminating Medicare Advantage plans throughout the state and in Monroe County. If you have received a notification of termination for your plan, you must enroll in a new plan, or you will be reverted to Original Medicare.
- New Medigap plan options are available for Monroe County residence for 2027.
- Patriot plans, specifically designed for Veterans to complement their VA coverage, are available for Monroe County residence for 2027.
