Healthy Start is a free home visiting program that provides education and care coordination to pregnant women and families of children under the age of three.

Healthy Start is a free program for all pregnant women and women with babies under age 3 that promotes education, referrals, and home visits.

In 2021, there were 696 births in Monroe County. The same year, Healthy Start made contact with 539 pregnant women and 417 babies across the Florida Keys. 

Educational outreach areas include:

  • Childbirth
  • Parenting
  • Breastfeeding
  • Smoking cessation
  • Staying healthy between pregnancies

Appointments are strongly encouraged. Walk-ins only in Key West (currently at Bernstein Park, 6751 5th St. Stock Island, FL 33040). To schedule an appointment, call 305-676-3841. Staff have Spanish and Creole language capability.
