DOH-Monroe Hosts Marathon “Health To You” Event

Monroe, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is hosting a free “Health To You” community event on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the following location:
For this event, DOH-Monroe is partnering with the City of Marathon and the Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) for a Hop Into Wellness edition of “Health To You.”
All attendees will receive a $10 food gift card for their participation, while supplies last.
“We are excited to bring ‘Health To You’ to Marathon to make it easier for the people living and working in the Middle Keys to gain access to the many free products and services we offer at DOH-Monroe,” said Dr. Carla Fry, PhD, MSN, RN, administrator and health officer, DOH-Monroe. “This is going to be a big event with a lot of community partners joining us to offer free giveaways and fun activities for the kids!”
No health insurance or registration is required. DOH-Monroe staff members will be on hand to provide the following, all free of charge, including but not limited to:
- Bike helmets and safety gear
- Blood pressure checks and cuffs
- Glucose/sugar checks and monitors
- Mental health resources
- Narcan
In addition to the above services, many other Monroe County community organizations will be at the event to share information about their available services, including, but not limited to:
- University of Miami Gamechanger Bus - cancer screenings
- Rural Health Network – health insurance assistance for the Special Enrollment period and tax credits reconciliation
- Alliance for Aging – Medicare support
