DOH-Monroe to Host "Health To You" Events in Early 2024

DOH-MONROE TO HOST “HEALTH TO YOU” EVENTS IN EARLY 2024

Monroe, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is hosting two free “Health to You” community events in early 2024.

  • The first event will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Big Pine Key Community Center in the Winn-Dixie Plaza on 176 Key Deer Boulevard. 
  • The second event will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, from noon-3 p.m. at Friendship Park on Hibiscus Road in Key Largo.

All attendees will receive a $10 food gift card for their participation while supplies last. Door prizes will also be available. 

“We are excited to host these “Health to You” events in Big Pine Key and Key Largo to make it easier for people living in these remote areas to gain access to the many free products and services we offer at DOH-Monroe,” said Dr. Carla Fry, PhD, MSN, RN, Administrator and Health Officer, DOH-Monroe

DOH-Monroe staff members will be on hand to provide the following services, all free of charge. No health insurance or appointments are required.

  • Health screenings
  • Immunizations
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Free bike helmets
  • Narcan
  • Nicotine patches

In addition to those services, other organizations will be on hand to share what they have to offer the community.
