DOH-Monroe Observes National Suicide Prevention Month

Monroe County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County recognized National Suicide Prevention Month during its recent All Staff Day, highlighting the importance of connection, awareness, and seeking help when needed. Anyone experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis can call or text 988 for free, confidential support.

DOH-Monroe is also offering free gun locks at each of its locations to promote safe firearm storage and support suicide prevention. The locks were generously provided by the Miami VA Healthcare System, and DOH-Monroe thanks the VA for its partnership and commitment to community safety.
