Dr. Mark Roby Appointed Health Officer at the Florida Department of Health in Monroe County

Monroe County, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County (DOH-Monroe) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mark Roby, DNP, MBA, RN, as its new administrator and health officer, effective June 10, 2026.
Dr. Roby joined DOH-Monroe in January 2023 as director of nursing. He has been serving as the interim administrator and health officer since April 2026.
“I am committed to ensuring that DOH-Monroe‑ remains a trusted and responsive partner for every member of our community, steadfast in our mission to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts,” said Dr. Mark Roby, DNP, MBA, RN.
Dr. Roby holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from George Mason University, a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Virginia Tech, an MBA in human resource management from the University of Phoenix, an MSN in nursing education from the University of South Florida, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University.
“Dr. Mark Roby’s extensive public health leadership and deep understanding of Monroe County make him exceptionally well-‑prepared for this role,” said Becky Keyes, chief of medical and health services for the Florida Department of Health. “His proven commitment to our community gives me full confidence in his ability to serve the Florida Keys with distinction as our new health officer.”
