Florida Department of Health in Monroe County

The Florida Department of Health in Monroe County works to prevent disease of environmental origin. Environmental health activities, run through the Community Health Services division, focus on prevention, preparedness and education and are implemented through routine monitoring, education, surveillance and sampling of facilities and conditions that may contribute to the occurrence or transmission of disease.

Onsite sewage treatment and disposal system programs, water sampling, facilities programs, and sanitary nuisance complaints.
