|June 30, 2020 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM|
Upcoming Monroe County Blood Drives include COVID-19 Antibodies Test
Innovative Transfusion Medicine (ITM), a local not-for-profit
blood center, announced that all voluntary whole blood donations made at select locations and up to a defined quantity will include a test for COVID-19 IgG Antibodies along with a mini-physical, cholesterol test, and snacks.
Over the past several weeks, blood centers throughout the country are experiencing a significant drop in blood donations. Schools, Churches, Businesses and Public Entertainment
closures have disrupted routine donations.
If you have not traveled or experienced any flu-like symptoms, please donate at one of the following upcoming events in Monroe County through June 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
Key Largo School 6/26/20
Coral Shores High School, Tavernier 6/27/20
Marathon High School 6/28/20
The Vineyard Church, Big Pine Key, 6/29/20
Key West High School 6/30/20
Criteria for donating include being a healthy individual, and age 17 or older, who weighs at least 115 pounds. Photo ID required. For more information, call (786) 406-2734.
Blood donation is safe and precautions to ensure donor safety remains in full force. Blood centers are regulated by the FDA and must follow specific guidelines to ensure the safety of the donors and the nation’s blood supply. ITM has adopted these policies to restrict those who may be at risk. Every donor will be assessed for a current fever and recent symptoms and/or travel activity, including, but not limited to location and form of travel, including airplane travel or cruise liner.
Event Starts: 10:00 AM
Event Ends: 6:00 PM
